Josh
Green, a former assistant coach for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes (2004-2005) and a current asistant coach at University of Manceda (Minnesota), returns
as one of our camp coaches. He was an assistant coach for the Pepperdine
University Women’s Soccer team from 1995 to 2003 and helped guide
Pepperdine to three straight top 25 Division I rankings and NCAA Tournament
appearances (2001-03). Green also helped Pepperdine gain a West Coast
Conference Championship in 2002 and coached three all-conference goalkeepers.
He also served as head coach for the men’s club soccer team at
Pepperdine in 2003. Green has been involved in many different club organizations.
He was a head coach within the Valley United Soccer Club in 2003 and
the South Bay Force Soccer Club from 2000-03. Josh has been the assistant
director for the Malibu Soccer Academy since 1993 where he organized
and coached development camps. Green was a goalkeeper for California
Lutheran University where he earned all-conference and all-regional
honors (1992-94). Green played for the U.S.I.S.L. affiliated San Fernando
Valley Golden Eagles (1994-96) and for the Los Angeles Galaxy developmental
team of the M.L.S. as a goalkeeper. He was also a member of the semi-professional
Los Angeles Football Club. He graduated from San Diego Mesa College
in 1992 with an Associates degree in Liberal Arts and from California
Lutheran University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in athletic
training. Green plans on attending graduate school at Iowa and study
health and sports sciences. Josh earned his “D” license
from the USSF in 2000.
He enjoys acting and has appeared in numerous movies and television
shows including “Pearl Harbor” and “Party of Five.”
