Kaufman - Camp Co-Director
Twila
Kaufman is beginning her fifth season with the WAVES as assistant coach.
She assists head coach Tim Ward with all phases of the program as well
as the running of the Malibu Soccer Academy. Before coming to Pepperdine,
Twila served as a volunteer graduate assistant coach at Northern Arizona.
As a player, Twila played semi-professionally with the
Arizona Heatwave. There she served as team captain and received the title of
MVP for 5 league games. She came to the Heatwave after a successful
college career. She was a four-year starter at Arizona where she served
as team captain and finished her career ranked in the Top 10 in eight
different categories, including ranking No.1 in matches played. She
was selected to the Pac10 Conference's All-Academic Team three times
and was a Mary Roby Award recipient all four years. Kaufman was also
named the Wildcats' "Rookie of the Year" in 1998. A native
of Los Angeles, California, Kaufman attended nearby Harvard-Westlake
HS. As a club player, she played for the Las Virgenes Blazers (now Southern
California United) before moving to the Southern California Blues Soccer
Club where she played for Hugh Donald and won two state championships
(1997 and 1998). Kaufman was also a member of the Southern California
ODP team, Region IV ODP team and national pool in 1997. She graduated
from Arizona with a bachelor's of arts degree in education in 2003. Currently, she is also the head trainer and coach for the GU12 Camarillo Eagles.
Twila holds USSF "B" coaching license.
